Coachella, the festival of all festivals. The first edition took place in 1999 in Indio, California in the Colorado desert and it grew to return annually. It’s a music and arts festival but there’s a lot of focus on fashion too. All the bohemian, grunge and punk festival looks can be found here. My Instagram-feed exploded with handsome happy faces, fashionable looks, palm trees, cool bands and pool parties. Jealous much?
The first weekend of Coachella 2014 has ended and as I was drooling over some of the outfits and here are my favorites. If only I could go there…
Ph’s all from Vogue US
Pastels are back and here to stay. Last Winter the baby pink oversized coat was a big hit but pastels will stay during Spring and Summer too. I got inspired by the awesome outfits from the Burberry Prorsum and Ellie Saab S/S14 runway shows and decided to browse for some high street options. Hence my Pastel Picks!
If you think a whole pastel look is a bit to much, like me (except if I would get the whole look Cara is wearing in the Burberry Prorsum show, hello!), I’d say combine it with white or gray. Also, if baby or powder pink for instance doesn’t go well with your skin tone, try one of the blue or green shades instead!
1. Jacquard pants, Zara; 2. Sunnies, H&M; 3. Blouse, Zara; 4. Linnen t-shirt, Zara; 5. Pencil skirt, Topshop; 6. Bag, Zara; 7. Top, Zara; 8. Heels, Zara
Liu Wen probably doesn’t need an introduction. This girl is pretty and her off-duty looks are to cool for school!
This girl is rocking the industry. No. 5 on the Forbes list of The World’s Highest-Paid Models Of 2013. Not bad, right? Liu has appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta, Hugo Boss, Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, H&M, Marni, Lane Crawford, Bergdorf Goodman, Diesel, Gap, and Vivienne Tam. Fashion weeks are quite busy for her since every designer wants her in the show.
Oh, and on runway she looks pretty cool too
Since we’ve been having a pretty nice Spring in Amsterdam so far I secretly start to long for Summer too. And of course a new season asks for a wardrobe update. I selected a couple of items it would love to add to mine.
Dress: Diane von Furstenberg
T-shirt: Alexander Wang
Heels: Christian Louboutin
Bag: Stella McCartney
Sunnies: Linda Farrow
Do you have a wishlist for Summer?
I’m recovering from surgery at the moment and apart from sleeping and eating I’m not really capable of doing things. Quite boring already, and we’re only 3 days in. On the other hand I’m still a bit forgetful from the narcosis so I would not be able to do important things anyway.
We shot this look a couple weeks ago with this awesome heels I got for my birthday.
- Denim shirt: Levi’s
- Skirt: ByFabrio
- Heels: Giuseppe Zanotti
- Necklace: Primark
Now, I’m off to get some rest:-)
